TinEye Was My Idea

TinEyeHaha!

Not too long ago(way back in college), it popped in my little mind that Youtube might be able to filter pornographic scenes on the videos being uploaded to its servers. My fellow little minded friends would laugh just at the idea. I’ve even added that an Aaaahhh and Ooommms may be used to screen videos to. But no one ever took me seriously because I myself don’t fuckin’ take myself seriously.

Then…this post from my feed reader - which is Google Reader. TinEye released their invites-only beta site which would allow us, in the future, to search the net using image fingerprints. That which doesn’t use meta data for results but the actual relevance. Watch the video after the jump to learn more and secure the invite.

That little pop-up idea wasn’t very far fetched then, huh?

Bantigue Cove, Malapascua Island

Bantigue Cove, Malapascua Island
The place is haven! I forgot about the piston malfunction on the bus ride going to the port where you have to pay terminal fees among other additionals that only the boatmen were aware of what for. Malapascua is indeed the next Boracay! If only the town’s mayor was not corrupt enough to deny electricity. At Bantigue Cove, where my team is staying, only offers electricity from 6pm to 6am. Imagine how you could ever walk away from last night’s hangover of tequila/vodka jumps without the saving smell of Maggi Instant Mami Noodles early in the morning. Good thing though, the clear cold sea served for the purpose.

Tangent Of The Damned

May 7, 2008 Write a Comment Politricks

The river is mostly dry that turns into a violent milk-chocolate mix of soil and water and whatever on earth it rolled on when little rain happens to kiss the mountains at far back. It’s not a river. But a path. The path that have taken lives just months ago. My better half once told me how scared she was seeing a hand waving help when the water was meters high. The room that we still rent is looking proudly down on that river and the next day’s morning print accounted at least three missing heads.

Now, this river ends on sea. So, we are the sea. So, we are the river. What good will a famous milk(white) and a highly regarded chocolate(black) bring to our world? The rain hasn’t even poured yet. How divided is a party? How divided is a union? We are one yet we still seek for the one.

Surprise, Iron Man Rocks!

Iron Man
This is the only Marvel movie that didn’t suck - for me. Maybe it’s my respect for Robert Downey Jr but Iron Man rocked! The movie is perfectly paced. Though this will still run as a trilogy, nothing is forced just to sell the next movie. It’s not like an advertisement. Not like, say, X-Men were you have to watch every single wall for cameos of your favorite Marvel Universe star - where the hell was Gambit, anyway. Anyway, back to my Iron Man praises, this is how every Marvel movies should be done! Period.

Gambit will be on the Wolverine movie, so, yeah! Bring ‘em on, Marvel, make your 80’s kids proud!

Feedburner versus PageRank

May 1, 2008 3 comments Short On Ideas, Web

I had my monthly bandwidth eaten up 4 days before April ended. So, www.in-indie.org, was unavailable for that span of days. Today, the bandwidth is reset and I’ve upgraded the hosting plan and this is actually the first time that I used my work card to pay so, yeah, I’m happy though Unionbank is very sucky in there support as I have been requesting for my transaction password to be reset for more than two weeks and not even an auto response.

What surprised me today, though, is not that I received a message from Unionbank - because i haven’t - but that my blog now have a PageRank of 2 (two) and the feed count from Feedburner is zero (0). Is this a “versus” thing from this two Google things? Yes, I have been hoping to have PageRank but please don’t count out my little feed counts. :(

There’s No Cure For What You Are!

Today my friends, I am The Poet. This is my take on the current “situation” in the Philippines. How a handful of fucking society elite fuck up such a hopeful nation. I stopped thinking politics when I started to enjoy college but now that is over.

Vans TNT III Slip-On

April 24, 2008 Write a Comment POTW

Fat shoes have always been my fascination but I never end up buying them because they are just too “phat.” Comfort is godlike but the fact is still that it’s very “phat.” Then came this day when I was too happy with the payout in my current job that I went ahead inside Cebu’s snug-est mall to pick one up. Rowley’s line is bestseller but it never appealed to me on that moment. What caught my attention is this black slip-on with a claw stitch on it.

Then went ahead and Googled Taka Hayashi…

Taka Hayashi grew up skateboarding, and began to draw at a very early age. His talent is undeniable, and his artistic style reflects his unique journey. Born in Japan, and then transplanted to Santa Monica, CA in 1983, he grew up during one of the definitive periods of modern street skateboarding. Taka hung out at a local skate shop on 5th and Broadway, taking inspiration from the Venice pros that were regulars in the shop. The 80s skate culture and vibrant art scene had its impact. For this Holiday Core collection Taka designed an incredibly detailed signature series–each design is inspired by the rider’s unique style. Using a variety of different techniques and materials, his art is strikingly reproduced on the new Rowley “Shambles”, the AV Sk8 Low, the DD-66, and the TNT III Slip-On. This is exclusive product for style-conscious skateboarders.

…and, yes, this is POTW.
