Bantigue Cove, Malapascua Island

The place is haven! I forgot about the piston malfunction on the bus ride going to the port where you have to pay terminal fees among other additionals that only the boatmen were aware of what for. Malapascua is indeed the next Boracay! If only the town’s mayor was not corrupt enough to deny electricity. At Bantigue Cove, where my team is staying, only offers electricity from 6pm to 6am. Imagine how you could ever walk away from last night’s hangover of tequila/vodka jumps without the saving smell of Maggi Instant Mami Noodles early in the morning. Good thing though, the clear cold sea served for the purpose.
Snorkeling on the cove though tells me that the sea bed is still young with corals still trying to breath life. The largest I saw, in the shallow part, is about the size of your unwashed blanket. Fish are friendly. You can feed them with SANDwich.
The town is friendly. From the cove you need to take habal-habal so you could eat something less than 150php which is the cheapest of what the restobar in the cove offers. I met “Spike” at GingGings Flowershop. The only dog that I know that never responds to the usual doggy calls but only by his name.
On your next visit please go to this place. I just can’t write anymore about how wonderful the place is without sounding like a sales guy going after his commission. Google Malapascua or Bantigue Cove for more…
