X-Men Origins: Wolverine

90’s kids, such as me, will always remember those Friday nights elbowing with parents to have control of the TV to catch an episode of The Uncanny X-Men. The best X-Men tv-series ever! I tell you, new millennium kiddies, that the digitized teenage X-Men you follow is no match to the animation and depth of the stories covered by The Uncanny X-Men. This is when I was first introduced to Gambit. The playing card throwing mysterious guy of the X-Men Blue Team. He’s my, let’s say, hero when my cousins settled for the more famous Cyclops and Wolverine as theirs.
Now, on May 2009, Marvel will be releasing the first of the origins series of X-Men and due to his importance in the X-Men trilogy Wolverine was not a difficult choice to make. This sure will be a HIT! No doubt. But I hated the X-Men trilogy due to it’s shallowness. The producers were to scared to alienate the uninitiated movie-goers by not going to the more interesting story. They were more into making sure that the replica of the famous characters will sell in the many fastfood chains. With Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk being good it should be a challenge for its producers to top.
With Sabretooth, Deadpool and Gambit on the fold among many others this surely will be better! Watch the trailer, in high definition, after the jump. continue reading…
Surprise, Iron Man Rocks!

This is the only Marvel movie that didn’t suck - for me. Maybe it’s my respect for Robert Downey Jr but Iron Man rocked! The movie is perfectly paced. Though this will still run as a trilogy, nothing is forced just to sell the next movie. It’s not like an advertisement. Not like, say, X-Men were you have to watch every single wall for cameos of your favorite Marvel Universe star - where the hell was Gambit, anyway. Anyway, back to my Iron Man praises, this is how every Marvel movies should be done! Period.
Gambit will be on the Wolverine movie, so, yeah! Bring ‘em on, Marvel, make your 80’s kids proud!
