Free lunch for grade schools?
February 17, 2010 Write a Comment Food, Pilipinas, Promote
All elementary schools within Negros Oriental were allocated with budget from, how I understood it, provincial government officials that will give free lunches to graders for 90 school days. Wow! I’ve been a public school student until secondary school and all I could remember getting was free bulgur that is a not fully-polished cheap grain. Boiled in water and matched with powdered choco to add flavor. And that was in the 90s.
This free lunch is everything from mongo, dried fish, noodles, canned goods with the good old NFA rice. I’m not complaining if that’s everything they could provide! At least it’s FREE and feeds thousands. Something to look forward to for kids in the middle of the day. Parents of these graders does the cooking in shifts.
My mother, who’s a school principal, said that attendance increased, if not perfected, when the free lunch initiative started. Due to the limited options she said that her school barters food, like canned goods, for crops locally grown to add to the menu.
Talks of implementing this throughout the country is on the move. Meaning a national budget will be drafted and finalized. Another possible source of corruption but if it entails stuffing empty stomach for at least once a day for my fellow Filipinos then I’m still not complaining!

Voting guide for the automated 2010 Presidential Elections
January 29, 2010 1 comment Pilipinas, TutorialsBefore you head out with your classy shoes and outfit to your designated polling precinct, it’s helpful to know what to bring. So, I’m listing things to remember or bring during the 2010 Presidential Elections day.
- Voter’s ID or any valid national ID.
- Your list, kodigo, of who you’re voting for. Why? Because there’s only one ballot for each voter.
Note: Do not overvote. Meaning voting for extra number of candidates as it will invalidate your vote for that political seat. See guide below:
- One(1) President
- One(1) Vice President
- Twelve(12) Senators
- One(1) Congressman
- One(1) Governor
- One(1) Mayor
- Bringing your own pen or marker is not necessary. That will be provided as you vote. And you have to return it.
See, there’s not much to bring! Just in case no one’s giving out snacks, remember to have something to munch on if ever you get hungry as you vote but not those messy ones, please, because any unnecessary marking on your ballot might might invalidate it. Steps after the jump! (Continued…)
PGMA+Ampatuans: Anak ng puta naman kayo!
December 11, 2009 1 comment Grrrievance, Pilipinas, PolitricksThis is how far a weak government would go to try to topple an already old force that resides in the mountains and maybe even in the flat lands now. Hire a warlord to govern with a promise of fuck(ing sh)it up with the old force. The hopeful gained nothing and even fired back badly in millions fold.
Too much power is evil much like every other excesses.
What happened in Ampatuan town is a slit in the wrist to Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s cute governing of the country. The final shame! I wont go into details because it’s against the rules that I’ve set for this blog – discuss murder. Try “Maguindanao Massacre” in Google or Wikipedia to learn more if you’ve been lounging somewhere when this happened.
I wanted to just walk away and not speak about a political killing in the country that’s been publicized but I just can’t let this pass. It’s been weeks since this happened and Martial Law is already in effect on the area with rebellion being the reason. Well, rebellion bags lower sentence compared to murder, right? It’s PGMA trying another trick again to save a long-time friend. What do we know.
With too many schools of thought and religion and whatever we’re still not a better race. Yes, we’ve got the comfort of technology and travel but we are killing ourselves. And that’s not only by working or partying too hard, which is acceptable, but by shooting WITH guns? Just plain ugly and senseless.
To those responsible for this act, a perpetual shivering sleepless night to you. And ice droplets to your genitals every five seconds until sunrise – to thaw them frozen liquids and levels and levels of sunburn. Chuck Norris will be there to press REPEAT! (Continued…)

The art of winning the Philippine presidency
September 2, 2009 2 comments Pilipinas, Politricks
Ask me about politics and I’ll either give you a serious answer or an I-don’t-give-a-rats-ass slap in the face. Politics resides on both extremes – that to care about and the exact opposite. I’ve not lived that long to give much walk to the talk but the twenty four years that I’ve lived in this Philippine theater of politrics is enough to give weight on my observations, that which I call The art of winning the Philippine presidency.
Be putting those in a bullet for a clearer list and not expand much.
- Be one of the people who placed Cory Aquino in the position.
- Be a star. Ronald did it!
- Stop growing. It’ll make people look taller within.
- Always not do it for yourself.
Oh, this is one of those times when I’m not giving serious answers to politics.
But I can see something about Mar Roxas‘ withdrawal for the race. The shock factor still works. Wait and see, Philippines! Seriously!
PGMA’s SONA ‘09 (Full transcript)
July 31, 2009 2 comments Pilipinas, PolitricksReally, I just wanna sit down and not give a flying (f)uck about the words that’s comin’ out of the currently seated Philippine President. Continue with whatever I was doing – that’s what I actually did – and let all words vanish into space like the worthlessness of the whole President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address. But it’s not very Filipino, what I did. So, I scouted the internet for the full transcript of it all. Credit goes to this guy!

It’s over now; President GMA lifts taxes imposed on imported books

“The President wants books to be within reach of the common man. She believes reading as an important value for intellectual formation, which is the foundation of a healthy public opinion necessary for a vibrant democracy,” said Press Secretary Cerge Remonde.

Figure me this
May 13, 2009 Write a Comment PilipinasWhile reading about genocide from an email spammed at the office, with gruesome photos and all, it suddenly occurred to me to find a better picture of it. Flip the photo over and find what’s behind it aside from the expensive branding of the paper it’s printed on. The positive effect genocide has to humankind. Not that I support killing in anyway but what it actually does to the cycle.
Again, I say fuc k genocide!
With that carved in stone I will now go to talk about the bitter better picture of the whole killing thing.
I pictured the globe in my head and went to go to People’s republic of China and the United States of America. Wondered what their population could be. So I hurriedly consulted Mr. Wikipedia to find out the truth. The figure I saw did not, in anyway, shocked the hell out of me until I scrolled to number twelve(12).
Ninety(90) million Filipinos waking up and breathing the same air everyday?! Philippines as a country ranked number 12 on the list of countries with the most population. With the land area that we have, basing on the globe that I drew in my head, how could that be possible but then Japan came in at ten(10) so maybe land area won’t really matter. It just that the figure really got my attention very massively that I thought everyone/Filipino should know.
The paragraph before this states the real reason why I got to doing this post. This is not about me possibly suggesting support to the primitive idea that is genocide or to spoil your beautiful day. It’s all about letting people know where our country is currently ranked in terms of population and, because I’m not really in the position to list any, hopefully get ideas about its effect.
Global Money Crisis creates Jobs in the PI
October 15, 2008 1 comment PilipinasI provide technical support for Dell’s corporate business segment in the United States. That means I talk to Americans working in the army, hospitals, schools among other businesses with more than a hundred employees. People who are affected by the current slump in the global economy. Some Americans who tell you that they just lost their jobs and their computer’s functionality. It’s very sad in that part of the world but this post is not about that but the opportunity that it creates for Pinoys. (Continued…)
