Has this blog been personal enough for people to easily figure me out? I think not yet I still dare call it a personal blog. So here goes a little personal injection for y’all: I’m getting married again!

The image you see above is me finishing the invites for the wedding. Adding personal touches to it. Check back with y’all later. Pardon the seldomness of my posting from last year up until now and that might continue in a little more months of the close future. :D

In facing the new decade

Looking back at it, the previous decade defined what I am today. Easily, it’s when I left the comfort of having my parents decide which track to tread on. I graduated secondary school just months after the 21st century started. I took and failed the information technology curriculum. I opted for the punk way of things outside the confines of any academic dictates. Life would have been different but I’m all good. I treasure everyone and everything that I have now.

Goodbye, Oh Nine. Hello, Twenty Ten!

And as the new decade of the 21st century opens, and much like the movie, that the poster appears above, I will be direct in my approach on things. Spell success and failure the way they should be. Less focus on the brilliance of implementing things but simply carrying out what is needed.

Bought votes!

Politicians now win elections by being their parent’s kid. An easy investment but an expensive one. It means sending them kids to well-known universities abroad. Add more color and depth to their CV. Them who brings new world ideas to a stagnant third world country. With the backing of the masa tax it’s easy. The money that should have been invested on reforming barren lands for housing and utilizing enriched lands for growing crops but we kept sowing bad seeds, always, and grow crap instead.

Jose Rizals’ kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan is true here. Them kids, you know. We are funding our future’s leaders. Not bad for an idea until idea itself lost its meaning. By sending these kids to the new world they start to grow. They learn to become a property of the brave new world. Our maya learns it’s cooler to fly in the width of an eagle. They become the insatiable prey for new age ambitions. They don’t understand how it is to dream big because they’ve become bigger. They’ve grown and flew and dusted the old dusts away.

Come elections, how about we line our vision with a leader who dreams like us. Build together. No radical minds just plain old walk on a flat planet before our educated heads started to understand how the world goes round and around still thinking that we’d be on top. That will never happen not in our lifetime or maybe not after all.

Let’s skew the earth a bit and take control.

Death by books

dead book (kudos to original image owner)

Are you one of the busy heads who cant build images with their heads?

Finishing a 200-page book/novel in a week is not my talent. And I don’t always get it. Meaning understanding what the book is all about. So breathing in real life when pausing in between reading is to help my little mind to get it. That’s how I keep my interest on written things alive – it stirs the neurons out of me.

So, I’m asking you, how do you keep the flame?

Or, are you, at this day of high-definition TVs and high-speed internet, the busy head who thinks that books are dead? (Books here are either printed or electronic)

Flushing you out!

Negros Oriental Buglasan festival was supposedly aimed at boosting local tourism. Provincial or city officials moved it to an area called Sidlakang Negros which is not very accessible and not well arranged as opposed to it’s previous venue at the Provincial Capitol Area two years ago. I was their scouting for flyers for any local tourism spots. Because I was interested in trying out new stuff as we all are but none of that was available and asking the people in the respective town’s booths did not help either. So, what is wrong here? Everything is but count out the mouth drenching dalupapa(giant squid) BBQs.

I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks that the new Cebu South Bus Terminal(CSBT) is nothing but a money making ploy. I use the terminal every weekend – I travel from Cebu city to Liloan where I take the 20-minute sea trip back to Sibulan, Negros Oriental. Using the new terminal is a total hassle and I have to pay five (5) bucks to get in. Yeah, you got your little TVs and reconditioned ACs but that’s not why I go to the terminal for. I need to travel and providing this little comfort, which is not at all completely that, is not helping. I’m not paying just to get to my designated bus the same way as how it was before.

Last week, I took a photo of this guy in the counter, where everyone queues up to get their PRIORITY tickets, and this is still about the new CSBT, he was wearing over-sized and glittering gold things around his neck, wrists and even his shinny black shades that is very hard to ignore. I shown the photo to my wife and she told me that it was the brother of Gwen. Oh, the new Cebu South Bus Terminal big BOSS he was. Making sure everything is in order, eh?

Lamb Of God’s Sacrament album cover was used by our local church’s projectionist. I don’t know if it was intentional or just an honest google-ing mistake. I have to point it out to my wife the moment I saw it. I was intently listening to the reading when this happened. Last note, be careful of what you search for.

There you go, friends, just some things that needed flushing. :)

Break a tooth away!

Had the longest break ever from work. Imagine getting away from the busy world and stranded in a pool of crystal clear water and powder soft sand and the best-est island mixes in one mix. Yeah, imagine a week long absence from work with those.

But I wasn’t enjoying at that prestige. The closest that ever happened would be walking in in the dark sand, though with crystal clear water as well, of Sibulan with my wife and some rambutan on hand which was brought in by my mom from the single rambutan tree that we have in our yard. It may not be the perfect break that I had in mind on the opening but just having the people closest to your heart around is more than what and how perfect could be.

But not everything on that break was sunny side up. There were burnt parts as well that I still kept in my plate.

I’ve been thinking of having the first molar on my left jaw be removed – extracted for a better medical term. I’ve had that thought in, I think two years, everytime pain kicks the teeth. But it’s always been just a thought until I got married to my wife who happen to have a dentist aunt. Life is free. Destiny fulfilled. My dear tooth ye shall be removed!

Yeah, dear, BREAK, aside from taking the salary you also took a molar away. That’s the story, compadre!

I’m back to taking drugs

A pill to make you...

It’s a pill to make you healthy for me.

One is to address my ever existing cough, the other is to clear my nasal passages and a double dosage of vitamin C.

It’s not bad or good. Or legal or not. Take your daily dose. Take the pill that makes you… :)

Seriously into Yoga

March 11, 2009 6 comments Short On Ideas

Yoga equals Buddhism. That’s how it always was to me.

A ritual. Nothing more.

Then came a day when I had this serious talk with a Yoga instructor. This was while troubleshooting his computer – actually just installing OpenOffice so he could open his Excel file on his floppy drive. Sloppy on technology but the guy provided much insight that seriously got me into Yoda, ahem, Yoga.

The truth that I always associated Yoga to changed. This wasn’t about anything that skinheads, them monks, do to reach “coolness.” In some ways, or just one, it is cool but Yoga is a necessity for their meditations for without Yoga back and leg pain is apparent during the extended hours journey towards Nirvana. They should be thanking their gods for it!

The insights from this guy ringed a bell. The bell of “health consciousness” that is. Cleared so much questions. Gave some references on starting out with personal Yoga training.

The most interesting part of the learning was the way of breathing. It’s not the usual breathing on the chest but breathing to the stomach. He said that’s how newborns do it.

And I always believed in keeping ourselves from aging is to recreate the environment that nourished us before childbirth but that’s another story.

Breathing is done by filling your stomach with air and exhaling everything out. Oxygen intake is very important. Creating passageways for oxygenated blood through proper stretching.

Yoga equals breathing and stretching. The new truth.

What’s going on?

I am currently busying myself in trying to absorb the boring and not so productive 3-day training that the company enrolled me in. It’s about learning two more of Dell computers – Optiplex and Latitude. We, seventeen of us as of now, will be the frontliners for this new line of support which is to come to life next month.

This got me a bit excited as I’ll be talking/working/troubleshooting with people who know better of computer compared to what I currently support. Handle time is expected to be shorter at 18 to 21 minutes. Customer satisfaction targeted at 80 to 90 percent. Current list of supervisors doesn’t seem like an easy lineup to shoulder on a daily basis.

Well, as what we always say to try to comfort ourselves to sleep, this is a step up. An improvement. Maybe.

Fridge: The search for ice point zero one

My romance have always been requesting/harassing me to buy a “cooling cabinet” so we could store food, beverages and stuff so we could save – the word. I never saw the point of saving in buying that device until she left the nest for training somewhere miles and millions of it away.

It would take me around 2 days to realize that I am to wash the wares I used on my last corned-beef-plus-egg or sardines-plus-two-eggs meal and I’d eat out for most of the times. (Continued…)
