The mystery of Big and Small parts

November 2, 2008 2 comments Short On Ideas

This is when Big and Small matters. This is when the phrase “It’s not the size of the boat but the motion of the ocean” doesn’t hit home.

Since my eating partner went miles away, oceans apart, I’ve been eating quick. Fastfood is my comfort. And why with the mysterious one-piece-chicken question, “Big part ni, sir?” (Basically asking if I want the big part of their chicken). Who would go for the small part, man?

This is on three major fastfood chains: McDonalds, Jollibee and KFC. I always get the big parts in other chicken houses – Chinese Ngohiong, Tagala’s Chicken Butterfly. I don’t get the logic of this offer. It could be the number of minutes these parts spend floating around in cooking oil. Yeah, it should be the fast that this chains have on their food. Or something else…I don’t know.

End note: Many thanks to Hazel of Samsung for the Starbucks GCs.

Good morning is not just some words

I didn’t notice the huge amount of rain that washed away the pigeon’s poop at my neighbors roof or that that silenced the early morning kakadoodledooooooooing of roosters. I sleep like a croc who’s just ingested a carabao. The alarm was set to explode at around four thirty so at least I have time to waste before I head to do the perpetual washing of the body.

At around five thirty I would be the heckler with the noisy shoes going down the staircase to the annoyance of the strangers living in the same roof still blowing their butts off sleeping. It is concrete alright but I have this tendency to do some tapping. I’m a frustrated dancer who never wanted to learn how to dance. (Continued…)

I use kproxy.com to get into my favorite non-business related website at work. It’s been working with no problem until I got infraction paper for playing a multiplayer online game at this link. We were, with my team mates who also signed the same paper that I got, brainstorming where the eye was. That got us into concluding that it was the very-precise cameras overhead which was confirmed by the guard who hand-carried the papers to us for signing. The IT guys are relying on the cameras. They have the tools, they’re using it. Nice.

Change of Plan

Looks like I will be keeping my hair. No. It’s not the PHP250 haircut of Bench Fix Salon nor the PHP45 of Juvel’s. It’s just that I never enjoy the company of any form of scissors in my hair.

I joked in my Psychology class about cutting the budget for haircut because University of San Carlos overcharged on its tuition when asked why I have a long hair. I was one of the only 5 people who still have long hair during that time when the administration pushed for the cleaner look and uniforms for male students. But so much for college.

See my long hair fashown across the years and the mathematics of the number of times that I visited a barber after the jump. (Continued…)

In Vanity and Gossips

Since changing my blog’s look into something white and simple(theme that I nicknamed unlearn) I also decided to change something in me. Today, I will have my unkempt hair trimmed. I have no idea how it would look or if it would end up being shaved. I’m doing it to give my neck and ear some air. (Continued…)

Yeah, what if?

“Alcohol the source of and the solution to life’s problem” – Homer J. Simpson

With the recent, or maybe delayed, push of the government to prohibit advertising of cigarette and liquor in all forms of media I am anxious of what would become of our children. Who would introduce them to the vices that we are enjoying at present? Will they ever feel the excitement of the faking it with the cashiers if they don’t know what those are for on TV.

Oh, and oh, yeah, the internet! Oh, yes! The internet. God save the internet! Internet save ignorance!

Catching Shiela and the Insects live some hours ago at the Outpost had me singing “Frantic Suicide” again. (Continued…)

Working on a new layout?

September 9, 2008 Write a Comment Short On Ideas

Not completely. I am going on the process of reworking the current layout of the site and that would only mean some tweaking on the original CSS that I manually coded months ago and planning on giving a bit grunge-ish touch to it. I’m seeing a lot of gray hues for this attempt but that could change as the hammering continues.

I’ve recently upgraded the platform, so I am using WordPress 2.6.1, and I didn’t have any problem at all – not even on a single plugin which is great. The rework should probably be done in a week as I’m busily switching time for work, sleep and the whatnots.

Decided to get active in Plurk after signing up a month ago. Notice my plurk widget on the right and don’t forget to add me up as friend! I’ve been really hooked playing Can Car Racing at work. Try it by clicking here or the image above!
