Because Pownce.com is closing
December 4, 2008 1 comment Web
I received an email from the Pownce team that they will be closing down the website by December 15, 2008. Read the press release here. No biggie! I told myself but then I remember I got something of material posted on my Pownce page which goes way back in college. See them after the jump, dude! continue reading…
Philippines’ Apple Online Store now open!
November 12, 2008 2 comments WebAs if the recent populating of our local malls with iStores isn’t enough, the guys behind the Philippine distribution of Apple products have finally launched the online Apple Store. Now this should be a treat, like winning online casinos gambling, for kids who still have their parents trust on credit card extensions. The pricing is already in Philippine peso so worrying about paying more(when priced in $) due to unstable currency exchange is lessen. But, uhm, just have your calculators handy. continue reading…
Freelancing is another way to earn
October 29, 2008 5 comments FreelancingOh, it seems that I am on a roll for posting money-making entries. Well, nothing is planned for. They just seem to fall into pieces on its own. And, yes, this is not the money-making blog that you are searching for if you originated from any search engine.
I have been roaming in the vast listing of wanted freelancers in GetAFreelancer.com and got picked on one of the bids that I placed on the site about months ago. I was commissioned to finish a project. The job requires me to have this and that into its rightful place. I’ve to do some simple CSS-ing and PHP-ing and HTML-ing. I could do graphic manipulations but I don’t want to specialize on that at this moment as I am working, call it day job, and I’m a bit picky when it comes to that matter so simply put I don’t have the time to work as a graphic artist - yet. I will be the programming guy for this side venture.
I will be giving you updates about what happens as I am still working on the project. Time(zone) difference between me and my client is a b*tch but I’ll try to work it out.
Click here to signup for a GetAFreelancer account. Start being the freelancer that you only wished you could be and live the good life!

Google Adsense is for real!
October 27, 2008 10 comments AdvertisingThe entry’s title is addressed to the reluctant boys and girls who still think that making money in the internet is nothing but a “Congratulations, you’ve won a million dollars and click here to claim” cow pie way back.
This blog alone gave me two payouts from Google Adsense this year. I spent everything on the June payout that I cashed out through Western Union. The next one, which I decided for December, will be used to buy an iPod Nano so I could rock the Christmas away! The green one should be perfect but I’d go for the classy black, dude.
Generating $100 USD entitles anyone serving Adsense for a payout. For a small blog such as mine that’s a hard target to hit but hell I’m just happy getting another payout, man!
There are four ways to earn from the Adsense program:
- AdSense for Search
- AdSense for Content
- Referrals (Ended but gave part of my revenue)
- AdSense for Feeds (That I haven’t tried yet)
Edit: Thanks to Orville! I could have gotten the Google whipping for showing those stats.
Poverty
October 15, 2008 1 comment WebI am hoping that this would be the last time that I needed to mention this word on this blog. This may be wishful thinking but I believe in it. Believing is moving.
Completely eradicating poverty is impossible. It may be that but if we start within ourselves we could eliminate this myth. It’s not giving away money, which many believes to be the only source of poverty, to anyone who doesn’t have it. And it’s not simply choosing someone to lead a country.
It is making ourselves better and by doing that we detach one from the rank of poverty. I still believe in making a better place for you and me. I wish you still do.
How’s Asiacenturyph doing?
October 10, 2008 9 comments AdvertisingIt was fun serving image ads from Asiacenturyph. The ad’s designs were very inviting and the turnout/earning for this site was promising. Though earning centavos from a stumbling Philippine currency I still have that faith that after a couple of months I’d finally get a decent payout.
That faith though have been stumped to the underground with mud, worms and all when I checked the domain http://www.asiacenturyph.com today! Their account has been suspended and the reason is the guys behind the project forgot to pay the bills? Hello? Well, hell!
I don’t know what really happened because they didn’t publish anything about having any problems at all. As if the constant bandwidth unavailability of the ads wasn’t enough. I sent them an inquiry that I still haven’t received any words from and I doubt to ever get any.
I wish them all the luck in the world though. The project was darn promising. With Nuffnang entering the local advertising scene I hope ACPH realizes the potentials that they’ve given up. continue reading…
Kay Batang Yagit Tayo!
September 20, 2008 3 comments WebUpdate (October 3, 2008): Batang Yagit won!
I’m voting for Batang Yagit! And you may wonder because it’s not yet time for politricking that Bayani Fernando if already doing by running some tarpaulin ads in some towns in Cebu city. This ain’t one of those government things that no longer interests most of us. This is about the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards that I wan’t my friend, Winston a.k.a. Batang Yagit, to win. I’m not voting because I may win the Nokie N82 that will be raffled off for anyone who blogged and voted. The simple reason that I’m doing this is just to say that this will be a good year for a batang yagit to win. continue reading…

September 11, 2008 3 comments WebChecking my other email, which was used as the primary email for this blog before, was an email from The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards Organizing Commitee saying I was nominated for Best Blog under the Personal Category and was given instructions on how to complete the nomination process.
I am to submit 5 of my best post for a certain period of time and should submit those on or before Tuesday, 26 August 2008. That’s ages ago already!

Not Very Smart, Bro!
August 19, 2008 5 comments ISPMy dreaming of Smart Bro was a nightmare. No. I had Smart technicians visit my boardinghouse yesterday to setup my Smart Bro. The service was fast. Fast because I applied, paid for, Sunday afternoon and by Monday noon I received an sms from their technicians saying that I’d be their last for the day. I was happy. I had the thought of downing some bottles of Red Horse after the setup is done. That though didn’t happen.
