As a way of thanking life for taking me on the journey of being a DuScian – graduate of Dumaguete Science High School – I created a social community exclusively for DuScians.
WWW.DUSCIANS.COM was started exactly a month ago and so far, a quarter of a thousand DuScians trooped to the site. I’m happy with how it turned out and still thinking of a way to make it better.
It’s my first time to use Buddypress and so far it’s been doing good.
Why are Filipinos so…

Google.com always has answers to our questions. What was your last query in Google?
I saw similar image from somewhere just a second ago and thought it was funny at first but when it sinked in the Filipino in me asked: Will Google ever show such suggestions?
So, I keyed the letters in and let Google fetch suggestions from its vast databases using so advanced algorithms and in less than a second returned what is the image above.
Here‘s Google explaining how they come up with such suggestions. And why do people need to search how ugly, stupid and etcetera the Filipinos are? Makes me wanna %*)#%(*(_ but, hey, happy thoughts, mein. Just laugh it out. Be stupid.

Google Search with SSL now running on beta
May 25, 2010 Write a Comment Web
Welcome Google SSL! Hurrah for Google in pushing for a more secure search for everyone. By pointing browser address to https://www.google.com/ will allow any user to use the encrypted mode of Google Search.
All queries made on this mode will be encrypted so third party softwares wont be able to sniff out information between the user’s computer and Google’s server. Though the search parameter still uses GET, meaning URL line will still show the keyword used on the query, this will not be the case with how the third party software sees it. This will put extra ease when using a public connection.

Gadget buying convenience
February 16, 2010 Write a Comment WebThere’s never been any doubt that the internet will take over the tv and radio or even the newspaper in being the primary source of information. The news have never been treated with such vast angles through reading blogs and news websites and it’s eliminated the bulk of promotional printed materials handed out everytime we look for the latest electronic gadgets. It’s answered the question of what’s the best camera or HDTV out in the market today with with just a click of a button.
Our friends at ShopWiki makes online buying more convenient and informative. It’s never been easier. Just a month ago I was jumping from one store to another in looking for the a regular laptop that I could get for a certain budget. It’s consumed my time and energy. So, since my mom commissioned me to look for a netbook for her, I’m going online shopping this time around. Out is the conventional way of shopping!
Deciding between a touch phone or a gaming console to give for your special someone this graduation day may be a head spinner but reading more about them first through ShopWiki will assist you in learning which is best for whom. Getting them the best value camera lenses for their most precious DSLRs will surely draw the perfect smiles.
If you have anything in mind that you’d want to ask or share about online shopping or if you still prefer the conventional way of shopping, I got a space for that in the comments section.
PhP1000 worth of free advertising on Google AdWords?
June 20, 2009 3 comments AdvertisingI received an email from Google Analytics Philippines today about trying out Google AdWords. A PhP1000 worth of coupon, that I could use before July 17, 2009, was generously offered. I wasn’t really alienated by this as other advertising networks also have such but the thing that got me to really dig into the email was the currency – Philippine peso!
I was amused that all the links and email addresses looked legit. No scary hashes! Included in the email is a short FAQ on why advertisers should use Google Adwords and instructions on how to redeem the AdWords coupon.
I’m not decided yet to do anything about it but if you happen to see on your Google Adsense a link to this blog then this offer is TRUE and used it.
I don’t know if this is offered to everybody using these services from Google but if you’ve tried this, please let me know and how far will a PhP1000 worth coupon take me?

I received an email from the Pownce team that they will be closing down the website by December 15, 2008. Read the press release here. No biggie! I told myself but then I remember I got something of material posted on my Pownce page which goes way back in college. See them after the jump, dude! (Continued…)
Philippines’ Apple Online Store now open!
November 12, 2008 2 comments WebAs if the recent populating of our local malls with iStores isn’t enough, the guys behind the Philippine distribution of Apple products have finally launched the online Apple Store. Now this should be a treat, like winning online casinos gambling, for kids who still have their parents trust on credit card extensions. The pricing is already in Philippine peso so worrying about paying more(when priced in $) due to unstable currency exchange is lessen. But, uhm, just have your calculators handy.
