Gadget buying convenience

February 16, 2010 Write a Comment Web

There’s never been any doubt that the internet will take over the tv and radio or even the newspaper in being the primary source of information. The news have never been treated with such vast angles through reading blogs and news websites and it’s eliminated the bulk of promotional printed materials handed out everytime we look for the latest electronic gadgets. It’s answered the question of what’s the best camera or HDTV out in the market today with with just a click of a button.

Our friends at ShopWiki makes online buying more convenient and informative. It’s never been easier. Just a month ago I was jumping from one store to another in looking for the a regular laptop that I could get for a certain budget. It’s consumed my time and energy. So, since my mom commissioned me to look for a netbook for her, I’m going online shopping this time around. Out is the conventional way of shopping!

Deciding between a touch phone or a gaming console to give for your special someone this graduation day may be a head spinner but reading more about them first through ShopWiki will assist you in learning which is best for whom. Getting them the best value camera lenses for their most precious DSLRs will surely draw the perfect smiles. :)

If you have anything in mind that you’d want to ask or share about online shopping or if you still prefer the conventional way of shopping, I got a space for that in the comments section.

PhP1000 worth of free advertising on Google AdWords?

June 20, 2009 3 comments Advertising

I received an email from Google Analytics Philippines today about trying out Google AdWords. A PhP1000 worth of coupon, that I could use before July 17, 2009, was generously offered. I wasn’t really alienated by this as other advertising networks also have such but the thing that got me to really dig into the email was the currency – Philippine peso!

I was amused that all the links and email addresses looked legit. No scary hashes! Included in the email is a short FAQ on why advertisers should use Google Adwords and instructions on how to redeem the AdWords coupon.

I’m not decided yet to do anything about it but if you happen to see on your Google Adsense a link to this blog then this offer is TRUE and used it.

I don’t know if this is offered to everybody using these services from Google but if you’ve tried this, please let me know and how far will a PhP1000 worth coupon take me?

Because Pownce.com is closing

December 4, 2008 1 comment Web

I received an email from the Pownce team that they will be closing down the website by December 15, 2008. Read the press release here. No biggie! I told myself but then I remember I got something of material posted on my Pownce page which goes way back in college. See them after the jump, dude! (Continued…)

Philippines’ Apple Online Store now open!

November 12, 2008 2 comments Web

As if the recent populating of our local malls with iStores isn’t enough, the guys behind the Philippine distribution of Apple products have finally launched the online Apple Store. Now this should be a treat, like winning online casinos gambling, for kids who still have their parents trust on credit card extensions. The pricing is already in Philippine peso so worrying about paying more(when priced in $) due to unstable currency exchange is lessen. But, uhm, just have your calculators handy. (Continued…)

Freelancing is another way to earn

October 29, 2008 7 comments Freelancing

Oh, it seems that I am on a roll for posting money-making entries. Well, nothing is planned for. They just seem to fall into pieces on its own. And, yes, this is not the money-making blog that you are searching for if you originated from any search engine.

I have been roaming in the vast listing of wanted freelancers in GetAFreelancer.com and got picked on one of the bids that I placed on the site about months ago. I was commissioned to finish a project. The job requires me to have this and that into its rightful place. I’ve to do some simple CSS-ing and PHP-ing and HTML-ing. I could do graphic manipulations but I don’t want to specialize on that at this moment as I am working, call it day job, and I’m a bit picky when it comes to that matter so simply put I don’t have the time to work as a graphic artist – yet. I will be the programming guy for this side venture.

I will be giving you updates about what happens as I am still working on the project. Time(zone) difference between me and my client is a b*tch but I’ll try to work it out. :D Click here to signup for a GetAFreelancer account. Start being the freelancer that you only wished you could be and live the good life! :) (Continued…)

Google Adsense is for real!

October 27, 2008 10 comments Advertising

The entry’s title is addressed to the reluctant boys and girls who still think that making money in the internet is nothing but a “Congratulations, you’ve won a million dollars and click here to claim” cow pie way back.

This blog alone gave me two payouts from Google Adsense this year. I spent everything on the June payout that I cashed out through Western Union. The next one, which I decided for December, will be used to buy an iPod Nano so I could rock the Christmas away! The green one should be perfect but I’d go for the classy black, dude.

Generating $100 USD entitles anyone serving Adsense for a payout. For a small blog such as mine that’s a hard target to hit but hell I’m just happy getting another payout, man!

There are four ways to earn from the Adsense program:

  1. AdSense for Search
  2. AdSense for Content
  3. Referrals (Ended but gave part of my revenue)
  4. AdSense for Feeds (That I haven’t tried yet)

Edit: Thanks to Orville! I could have gotten the Google whipping for showing those stats. :D

How’s Asiacenturyph doing?

October 10, 2008 10 comments Advertising

It was fun serving image ads from Asiacenturyph. The ad’s designs were very inviting and the turnout/earning for this site was promising. Though earning centavos from a stumbling Philippine currency I still have that faith that after a couple of months I’d finally get a decent payout.

That faith though have been stumped to the underground with mud, worms and all when I checked the domain http://www.asiacenturyph.com today! Their account has been suspended and the reason is the guys behind the project forgot to pay the bills? Hello? Well, hell!

I don’t know what really happened because they didn’t publish anything about having any problems at all. As if the constant bandwidth unavailability of the ads wasn’t enough. I sent them an inquiry that I still haven’t received any words from and I doubt to ever get any.

I wish them all the luck in the world though. The project was darn promising. With Nuffnang entering the local advertising scene I hope ACPH realizes the potentials that they’ve given up. (Continued…)

Kay Batang Yagit Tayo!

September 20, 2008 3 comments Web

Update (October 3, 2008): Batang Yagit won!

I’m voting for Batang Yagit! And you may wonder because it’s not yet time for politricking that Bayani Fernando if already doing by running some tarpaulin ads in some towns in Cebu city. This ain’t one of those government things that no longer interests most of us. This is about the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards that I wan’t my friend, Winston a.k.a. Batang Yagit, to win. I’m not voting because I may win the Nokie N82 that will be raffled off for anyone who blogged and voted. The simple reason that I’m doing this is just to say that this will be a good year for a batang yagit to win. (Continued…)

How cool is that?

September 11, 2008 3 comments Web

Checking my other email, which was used as the primary email for this blog before, was an email from The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards Organizing Commitee saying I was nominated for Best Blog under the Personal Category and was given instructions on how to complete the nomination process.

I am to submit 5 of my best post for a certain period of time and should submit those on or before Tuesday, 26 August 2008. That’s ages ago already! :D

So, this is how I will end this entry: Goodluck to them bloggers who completed their nominations! :)
