Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant (Formerly Rosante)
Location: Downtown Area, Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros
Let’s set expectations first. The service that the crew provides here is not very pleasant. Not what you’d expect from a restaurant. This is still the same crew that was Rosante. That written down let’s go on to the good side of Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant which is the food.
I ordered Steak A La Probre and she ordered Sizzling Squid. Since I am writing the review for both the orders we shared plates of course.
The meat on the steak was so tender that you’d think t’was made of something not of meat as it melts on the mouth but of course I’m exaggerating but it was the tender-est steak ever! Since it’s pinobre style tasting extra salt and soy gives justice to its name. I’d definitely still order one of this later. On to the squid, t’was very tasty that you’d know it hasn’t been stored on the freezer for at least a day. The onion that they stuffed on it looked like radish that would have been more eat-able. Garnishes on both the steak and the squid were the same. Some french fry like potatoes that have already absorbed oil, some hard beans and of course the ever colorful carrots.
The house pizza here is very good as well. Siopao is very famous and could pass as the best tasting siopao that I’ve ever tasted yet as I am a fan.
Overall, Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant is a 9 of a 10 star rating for the food but 3 for the service. The waiting time for the food to be served is 20 minutes that is just perfect.
I highly recommend that the next time that you happen to be in Dumaguete city do visit Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant.
