Windows 7 build 7000 (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7)

Yesterday, our training team ran out of better things to do and we still got some hours to spare. Our trainer brought in Windows 7 RC (Ultimate) and tried it out on one of the portables that we have in the room.

Installation is almost like that of Windows Vista but one thing that I noticed on the installation screen is the underwater-light-like background. It looks as though it is being done underwater. (Continued…)

I am currently busying myself in trying to absorb the boring and not so productive 3-day training that the company enrolled me in. It’s about learning two more of Dell computers – Optiplex and Latitude. We, seventeen of us as of now, will be the frontliners for this new line of support which is to come to life next month.

This got me a bit excited as I’ll be talking/working/troubleshooting with people who know better of computer compared to what I currently support. Handle time is expected to be shorter at 18 to 21 minutes. Customer satisfaction targeted at 80 to 90 percent. Current list of supervisors doesn’t seem like an easy lineup to shoulder on a daily basis.

Well, as what we always say to try to comfort ourselves to sleep, this is a step up. An improvement. Maybe.

My romance have always been requesting/harassing me to buy a “cooling cabinet” so we could store food, beverages and stuff so we could save – the word. I never saw the point of saving in buying that device until she left the nest for training somewhere miles and millions of it away.

It would take me around 2 days to realize that I am to wash the wares I used on my last corned-beef-plus-egg or sardines-plus-two-eggs meal and I’d eat out for most of the times. (Continued…)

Faith No More

I’d love to see this but why just Europe? My brilliant economist mind told me that it’s the currency, man, the money!

Probably.

For whatever reason, if it’s related to worldwide economic recession, I don’t care. It should be fun to party again with the band who brought “Angel Dust” and “The Real Thing” to the world again.

Read Faith No More‘s official statement after the jump. (Continued…)

Dysrhythmia @ Myspace: Live in NYC. photo by Cedric Victor De Souza

Music nerds that I so fuc king like are recording again! Dysrhythmia got my attention after learning about them from a black and white article on Metal Hammer called “Top 10 Mathcore albums of all time” (Click to see article). The words were swelling noise. Myspace and all other free listening websites weren’t that available during that time but I happen to bump into an illegal community/website(now closed through raid by groups from the recording industry) and downloaded their 2003 cd “Pretest” and that was it, man, the love begun!

Holy f ucking sh it!

Below is the sort-of-a-press-release from the Dysrhythmia’s Myspace blog.

Hey all, so we’re back from our week long trip with touring buddies Tombs. The shows overall were a great time.. Brooklyn, NY and Richmond, VA being the best, in my opinion. Sadly, our van is now dead thanks to this trip, but it was bound to happen anyway.

Today we begin recording our next album here in our own studio Menegroth: The Thousand Caves in Woodhaven Queens, NY. Our very own Colin Marston will be engineering the record. The album will be titled ‘Psychic Maps’ and will feature 6 songs totaling at around 40 minutes. Plans are to have it out via Relapse around June with touring to follow. Cheers!

Can’t break a kid’s stomach!

Lola, biyaan man mi ni Bolanday sige. Pagka gabie kay gutom na kaayo.” (Grandma, Bolanday always leaves us. We’d be too hungry in the evening)

This is what a kid has to say to her grandma.

This happened during a jeepney ride while I was going to get some vanity products from Watsons Fuente Osmeña. The kid was chewing, really chewing, on a plastic that previously contained frozen sugar plus food coloring diluted in water – ice candy. You’d notice how her grandma tried to hide certain level of humiliation that it created but she’s just too used to it, maybe, and buried it altogether. She gave us the familiar smile and eyes very much like that of the units who does momentary feeding programs. Those who get over appraisal of their single kindedness.

It broke my heart.

Now, I’m heart broken and I’m not yet too drunk to ignore it.

We used to sell ice candies when I was as old as the kid. Never really knew the taste of plastic, though I may have already tasted it, but it shouldn’t taste sweet. The kid, with her hungry stomach, was feasting on the sugar that still remained on her lips and mouth that she thought came from the actual plastic. Ignorance is bliss, really. (Continued…)

Music after Ross Robinson got into it

I remember us listening to records that ranged from Pantera to The Offspring through my dusty radio/cassette player in our high school classrooms and on the school’s stage. I was into jungle metal with Sepultura. The hottest band though was Korn and Limp Bizkit. This was the age of the nu metal. It was when you’re f ucking out if you’re not fuc king heavy!

Now, after a decade of that maligned genre in music, let’s hear it from the guy who brought the two hottest band on the planet at that time. Click play on the audio track below.
