US with Obama and how Americans feel about him

4 comments Politricks

Always curious about the atmosphere that’s created after Barack Obama won the US presidency, I compiled lines from customers(North American corporate business group using Dell computers) who answered my question “How’s the atmosphere in there with Obama as the president?” during our troubleshooting sessions.

Ken said, “I’ve always wanted to have a leader to rule like it‘s business. Government is business. He’s ideas are great but it will still be about who he surrounds himself with.”

Mary said, “Obama stands for hope. We need it.”

Ramona said, “In general its hopeful. We had a hard 8 years with Bush. We wanted him out but we just couldn’t. Bush was an arrogant stupid person. What can I say?”

Adrian said, “Happy for it. Everybody is pretty much into it now.”

Diane said, “I think people got hope after Bush. I think that guy was stupid. He brought this country down. He’s the lowest rated American president ever!”

This entry will be updated as soon as I get customers not busy enough to just focus about resolving their computer’s problems only.

Raining. Rainy. Rain.

Yeah, for people who can’t afford AC, we tend to go for the wet. Wanting rain everyday. Cooler atmosphere and coffee as a real treat.

I don’t like moving air from electric fans during those warm hot hot sunny days because it permeates my hole – human pores! – causing discomfort in my other hole and more.

But.

If there’s one disadvantage about rain I would like to point out TWO. First, my wash lady never delivers my laundry on time forcing me to wear sweaters at work to avoid infraction reports from the security guards who are too active to hand you one if you bring cellphones on the floor, which I always do, and if you are wearing something not collared on Mondays ’til Thursdays. Thanks wash-a-lot-lady now I’m too f*cking sweaty to work. Second, I’d have to kiwi my not-so-shiny leather shoes everytime but it’s really about me being always almost late because it’s hard to find empty cabs when it rains.

Summer. Summer, please!

The Mars Volta wins first ever Grammys

The title is sufficient enough that it’s unnecessary to type “The Mars Volta wins their first ever Grammys!” anywhere on this post again. But I am one of the lesser who celebrates their win.

The category is for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Wax Simulacra” that they triumphed over more established and okay to listen to everyday guys: Judas Priest(Visions), Rob Zombie(Lords Of Salem), Mötley Crüe(Saints Of Los Angeles), and Disturbed(Inside The Fire).

Do the jump to view a live performance of the winning song or click here for the complete list of nominees and winners. (Continued…)

Minimize USB usage

My recent trips to internet cafe’s had me to reinstall my operating system – MS Windows XP. F uck! It’s never done that much damage to my system before. I could handle VBscripts plus autoruns with my little buddy – command prompt – before.

Lines such as dir/ah and attrib -r -h -s and shutdown -r used to do the job.

Not anymore!

Script-ers have grown.

I didn’t.

When trying to deal with the infection that started from my handy-dandy flash drive, I noticed that after killing the actual file it could regenerate from the local folders that it’d changed into an exe. So, all of the local folders are now executables and could only be accessed by typing the full location on the address bar. I never wanted to do that forever.

So, I braved my way to system folders such as windows, system, prefetch, and system32 to check for possible residence of the tagged(xim9.exe, iostream.exe, recycler, autorun.inf) files. They did. Did because I, along with my buddy cmd, toasted them.

So I thought.

Because after rebooting the computer, the username that didn’t have a password scored one. There was no way for me to get it. Not even in the safest safe mode.

So the option is to reinstall.

Lessons learned?

  1. Trust anti-virus softwares because I never had one for 4 years.
  2. Minimize USB usage on public establishments.
  3. Backup!
  4. Never underestimate.

Wolfgang Tales Two Sides Live - March 19, 2009 at Music Museum

The previous post wasn’t anything like that of an April Fools day thing. It’s true that this blog is closed and will remain that way but I pledged my never dying support for the hardest hitting guys – Wolfgang and Razorback – of 90′s local rock scene before the decision was carried out. So…here’s the exception to the closure.

Wolfgang and Razorback will be doing both digital and analog. Both bands will be performing in full gear and acoustic on March 19, 2009. A historic night which will be held at Music Museum.

Ticket prices will be announced! (Continued…)
