STREAM: Resistance to Change
2 comments UncategorizedAs always, as how we always were told, the actuality of things, there’s nothing permanent but change. And Change only kept two friends with him: Good and Bad. The names equate to how they are defined in books.
As an employee of eTelecare for two years now, yes, January 21, 2010, I think I have the right to say that it’s been downhill for us employees since the announcement of the merger between eTelecare and Stream, both globally competent companies. All switches of enthusiasm were put off by the artillery of internal communications that never favored us employees. Some of it may even be against the books – of law.
Many decided to leave but most stayed, we stayed, with the mantra that the company needed us.
But everything’s been wishful thinking!

A blog for my son
Comments Fatherhood, PromoteI started a new public blog to record the growth of my son, Bjorn Carlos. Point your browser to bjorncarlos.blogspot.com. Excited to fill its pages with photos, videos and everything that I and my wife could come up with in celebrating the life with our first born.
If you are as excited as we are then become a follower of the blog through Google Friend Connect that’s on the sidebar of the blog.
In facing the new decade
Comments Short On IdeasLooking back at it, the previous decade defined what I am today. Easily, it’s when I left the comfort of having my parents decide which track to tread on. I graduated secondary school just months after the 21st century started. I took and failed the information technology curriculum. I opted for the punk way of things outside the confines of any academic dictates. Life would have been different but I’m all good. I treasure everyone and everything that I have now.
Goodbye, Oh Nine. Hello, Twenty Ten!
And as the new decade of the 21st century opens, and much like the movie, that the poster appears above, I will be direct in my approach on things. Spell success and failure the way they should be. Less focus on the brilliance of implementing things but simply carrying out what is needed.
Bjorn Carlos smiles!
Comments VideographyThis is a video of my son that I captured on the forth day since his birth last December 27, 2009. And a fitting quote – from someone I didn’t have the chance to know – for this video:
A smile happens in a flash, but its memory can last a lifetime.

Bjorn Carlos in photos #1
8 comments Fatherhood, PhotographyHere’s the batch that I took while my son, Bjorn Carlos Cabuhay-Dael, was still in Silliman University Medical Center’s nursery.
It’s true that words are short in explaining the level of happiness when I first saw my son.
Welcome to the world, Bjorn Carlos!
Comments FatherhoodI received the best Christmas gift two days earlier.
A son.
Thanks to my wife’s enduring the challenges of childbirth without me on her side. I was a minute short upon arrival as she’s already moved to the delivery room – and having a friend inside did not even hinted a chance of getting in – so I have to wait. I’m waiting with my two aunts and mother-in-law. I don’t know if it was instinct or a powerful invisible language between a father and a son told me to walk over to the nursery to see my son being transported from the delivery to the nursery room. The feeling was nothing that I could ever explain before it happened. It is happiness at its best!
I was given full authority by my wife for the name and I loved her more for that!
The name is Bjorn Carlos. Bjorn has been the name that I wanted to be my own. It stands for bear. A strong and lovable symbol. Carlos is a tribute to my grandfather.
Welcome to the world, Bjorn Carlos!

Two thousand oh nine may not the best year for the whole world but it’s been for me. I got married and we are expecting a baby boy this month or early next year.
I’ve got all the reasons to celebrate! And here’s my celebratory song for this year’s Christmas, a happy song from the happy happy band Bowling For Soup. From their Merry Flippin’ Christmas (Volume1) holiday album entitled “Feliz Navidad.”
Hit the play button to party! (Continued…)
PGMA+Ampatuans: Anak ng puta naman kayo!
1 comment Grrrievance, Pilipinas, PolitricksThis is how far a weak government would go to try to topple an already old force that resides in the mountains and maybe even in the flat lands now. Hire a warlord to govern with a promise of fuck(ing sh)it up with the old force. The hopeful gained nothing and even fired back badly in millions fold.
Too much power is evil much like every other excesses.
What happened in Ampatuan town is a slit in the wrist to Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s cute governing of the country. The final shame! I wont go into details because it’s against the rules that I’ve set for this blog – discuss murder. Try “Maguindanao Massacre” in Google or Wikipedia to learn more if you’ve been lounging somewhere when this happened.
I wanted to just walk away and not speak about a political killing in the country that’s been publicized but I just can’t let this pass. It’s been weeks since this happened and Martial Law is already in effect on the area with rebellion being the reason. Well, rebellion bags lower sentence compared to murder, right? It’s PGMA trying another trick again to save a long-time friend. What do we know.
With too many schools of thought and religion and whatever we’re still not a better race. Yes, we’ve got the comfort of technology and travel but we are killing ourselves. And that’s not only by working or partying too hard, which is acceptable, but by shooting WITH guns? Just plain ugly and senseless.
To those responsible for this act, a perpetual shivering sleepless night to you. And ice droplets to your genitals every five seconds until sunrise – to thaw them frozen liquids and levels and levels of sunburn. Chuck Norris will be there to press REPEAT! (Continued…)
Fatherhood: Visual art for baby
4 comments FatherhoodHere’s me holding another paintbrush after eight years or more. The last piece I made was a watercolor art of Santa Claus on a bond paper that many years ago, and that cheap, but it was done on pure passion of creating something beautiful and giving. I did offer help for my then girlfriend, now wife, when she tried on a scenery piece that if I’m right was a mix of watercolor and color pastel sometime three years ago but that wasn’t mine entirely so let’s agree on counting that off.
This one I’m doing it with much consciousness of introducing my son, as early as now(8-month old in her mama’s nurturing womb), in appreciating the wonders of colors and emotions. The gallery below shows the order of how I created the character in our room. How it evolved. Notice how the knife on his gizmo belt evolved into something sweet.
I also posted these photos at my Facebook account. (Continued…)
