Reveille Reborn

I consider Reveille to be one of the best band in the rock ‘n’ roll world in terms of lyrics. Drew Simmolardes, vocalist/lyricist, is a f*cking genius and Paul Gargano, formerly of Metal Edge, I think, shares this same view on the man. I even had one of Reveille’s lyrics included in my high school’s English class portfolio where we compile our own poems, essays, sketches and other artistic things. So, though I didn’t really enjoyed the second album that much, it was sad to hear this band disband.

So, what in the glass of history am I posting this for? Well, they are reuniting! This is the year for reunions, man! I wish Bush would as well. Do the jump to read the press release for this epic show. continue reading…

Samsung Fun Club Day in Cebu city

Ah, the benefits of blogging! :D

The potentially growing force of Cebu Bloggers met up in two days straight. We were at Figaro last Thursday afternoon to discuss, pay and finalize our “Blogger ko, bai!” shirt which we’ll be donning on the Digital Filipino event on the 23rd at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in. Check out the final design on this link.

The second meetup, which was last night, was the afterparty of Samsung’s Fun Club Day in Cebu city which was held at the V-Hire terminal of SM City Cebu where the ever rocking and goofy bunch of Parokya ni Edgar once again treated Cebuanos with not only their brand of songs but with beer and vodka as well. Chito and Vinci cheered the crowd by giving almost everyone willing, and old enough to drink continue reading…

Global Money Crisis creates Jobs in the PI

I provide technical support for Dell’s corporate business segment in the United States. That means I talk to Americans working in the army, hospitals, schools among other businesses with more than a hundred employees. People who are affected by the current slump in the global economy. Some Americans who tell you that they just lost their jobs and their computer’s functionality. It’s very sad in that part of the world but this post is not about that but the opportunity that it creates for Pinoys. continue reading…

Poverty

I am hoping that this would be the last time that I needed to mention this word on this blog. This may be wishful thinking but I believe in it. Believing is moving.

Completely eradicating poverty is impossible. It may be that but if we start within ourselves we could eliminate this myth. It’s not giving away money, which many believes to be the only source of poverty, to anyone who doesn’t have it. And it’s not simply choosing someone to lead a country.

It is making ourselves better and by doing that we detach one from the rank of poverty. I still believe in making a better place for you and me. I wish you still do.

How’s Asiacenturyph doing?

It was fun serving image ads from Asiacenturyph. The ad’s designs were very inviting and the turnout/earning for this site was promising. Though earning centavos from a stumbling Philippine currency I still have that faith that after a couple of months I’d finally get a decent payout.

That faith though have been stumped to the underground with mud, worms and all when I checked the domain http://www.asiacenturyph.com today! Their account has been suspended and the reason is the guys behind the project forgot to pay the bills? Hello? Well, hell!

I don’t know what really happened because they didn’t publish anything about having any problems at all. As if the constant bandwidth unavailability of the ads wasn’t enough. I sent them an inquiry that I still haven’t received any words from and I doubt to ever get any.

I wish them all the luck in the world though. The project was darn promising. With Nuffnang entering the local advertising scene I hope ACPH realizes the potentials that they’ve given up. continue reading…

Spam is “simultaneously posted advertising message” according to Computer Encyclopedia.

There are numerous topics in spams. The most common, which is what this blog is also plagued with, is s-e-x products. Other topics may include housing loans, political commentaries among many others that actually sells. The hecklers that webmasters and designers loath.

The simplest way to give the middle finger for these stuff is to include a stripslashes algorithm in your queries or do the jump if you’re using Wordpress continue reading…

Beat the BUSHes

Etymology: based on the practice in hunting of having someone hit bushes with a stick in order to force birds hiding in them to fly up into the air to be shot.

With the current beating of the US economy, I’m hoping the Mr. Bush‘ signing the $700 billion rescue plan is not something like “beating the bushes.” This guy’s been a hunter and let’s hope he respects the principles of hunting before he leave the White House.

I use kproxy.com to get into my favorite non-business related website at work. It’s been working with no problem until I got infraction paper for playing a multiplayer online game at this link. We were, with my team mates who also signed the same paper that I got, brainstorming where the eye was. That got us into concluding that it was the very-precise cameras overhead which was confirmed by the guard who hand-carried the papers to us for signing. The IT guys are relying on the cameras. They have the tools, they’re using it. Nice.
