Since changing my blog’s look into something white and simple(theme that I nicknamed unlearn) I also decided to change something in me. Today, I will have my unkempt hair trimmed. I have no idea how it would look or if it would end up being shaved. I’m doing it to give my neck and ear some air. continue reading…

Update (October 3, 2008): Batang Yagit won!

I’m voting for Batang Yagit! And you may wonder because it’s not yet time for politricking that Bayani Fernando if already doing by running some tarpaulin ads in some towns in Cebu city. This ain’t one of those government things that no longer interests most of us. This is about the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards that I wan’t my friend, Winston a.k.a. Batang Yagit, to win. I’m not voting because I may win the Nokie N82 that will be raffled off for anyone who blogged and voted. The simple reason that I’m doing this is just to say that this will be a good year for a batang yagit to win. continue reading…

Don Roberto's Bar and Restaurant
Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant (Formerly Rosante)
Location: Downtown Area, Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros

Let’s set expectations first. The service that the crew provides here is not very pleasant. Not what you’d expect from a restaurant. This is still the same crew that was Rosante. That written down let’s go on to the good side of Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant which is the food. continue reading…

I’m currently in Dumaguete city to spend 2 days off from work to be at my Lola’s town fiesta(which I eventually missed, btw) to meet the rest of my relatives and spend quality time with my girlfriend.

The trip was fine. Ceres liners were not very fast moving when travelling during these days as compared to in weekends. The only plus side is that both the bus and the boat isn’t filled with maniacs - taken here as the pushing a$$holes who would like to be the first in boarding.

I slept the whole 3 hours of the bus ride sleeping since it’s been 2 days straight that I’ve been gulping away bottles of beer with my team mates as our shift ends 1AM. The Outpost on day one and Sencias on day two for some videoke action.

Dumaguete hasn’t changed a lot. But the roads are still always under construction so commuting around the city is not a straight line from point a to point b. Since I arrived late I opted to miss the town fiesta and eat out with gf at Don Robertos which I have to write food review on a different post later.

Called it a night and took the much needed sleep ar around past midnight. :D

On October 15, 2008, the blogosphere will again take charge of the talking. Blog Action Day 2008 will be talking about Poverty. By posting about the problem, every blogger will carry the flag to eradicate the word and whatever it means. By posting the banner below, I am participating in Blog Action Day 2008: Poverty and will be posting about poverty on that date.

“Alcohol the source of and the solution to life’s problem” - Homer J. Simpson

With the recent, or maybe delayed, push of the government to prohibit advertising of cigarette and liquor in all forms of media I am anxious of what would become of our children. Who would introduce them to the vices that we are enjoying at present? Will they ever feel the excitement of the faking it with the cashiers if they don’t know what those are for on TV.

Oh, and oh, yeah, the internet! Oh, yes! The internet. God save the internet! Internet save ignorance!

Catching Shiela and the Insects live some hours ago at the Outpost had me singing “Frantic Suicide” again. continue reading…

eTelecare: Get 80GB iPod video when hired as TSR

eTelecare You lucky jobless bastard! :|

eTelecare Cebu, I dunno with the other sites, is giving away an 80GB iPod video to anyone, yes anyone, who gets hired as a technical support representative(TSR). This is, I believe, if you are offered a contract after the one day recruitment process. How hard could that be? Not really hard. Pass the preliminary elimination that is through phone interview, which I bet my month worth salary that anyone could nail :D , then go to the written examination of nothing but a test of your English to the final phase where you are to talk to actual people and to simulate a customer-agent phone conversation before signing for the glorious contract. continue reading…

Gone Home
Pictured are Nick(me), Jon, Harrison, Neil and Bernie. Inset is me and Lola.

This is in continuation of The Great Break of 2008. This is when I finally had the chance to be reunited with my family. It also was the death anniversary of my grandfather, Carlos Dael, so it was a good timing to be in one roof again.

Since we are a simple bunch, having sinugba, bulalo and other handful of home-made cooking is more than enough. I prepared the sinugba myself. Did the marinating and the grilling and the cutting and the presentation. Well, not that continue reading…

Checking my other email, which was used as the primary email for this blog before, was an email from The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards Organizing Commitee saying I was nominated for Best Blog under the Personal Category and was given instructions on how to complete the nomination process.

I am to submit 5 of my best post for a certain period of time and should submit those on or before Tuesday, 26 August 2008. That’s ages ago already! :D

So, this is how I will end this entry: Goodluck to them bloggers who completed their nominations! :)

Working on a new layout?

Not completely. I am going on the process of reworking the current layout of the site and that would only mean some tweaking on the original CSS that I manually coded months ago and planning on giving a bit grunge-ish touch to it. I’m seeing a lot of gray hues for this attempt but that could change as the hammering continues.

I’ve recently upgraded the platform, so I am using Wordpress 2.6.1, and I didn’t have any problem at all - not even on a single plugin which is great. The rework should probably be done in a week as I’m busily switching time for work, sleep and the whatnots.

Decided to get active in Plurk after signing up a month ago. Notice my plurk widget on the right and don’t forget to add me up as friend! I’ve been really hooked playing Can Car Racing at work. Try it by clicking here or the image above!
