Going to Dumaguete from Cebu city?
November 8, 2008 10 comments Travels
If you are planning to take a trip from Cebu city going to the calm and gentle residential town of Dumaguete city this post should be helpful. But you’ve got to do the ride with me first or at least limme share some bits of what I think about the place and don’t worry I’ll on cover one aspect only so it shouldn’t take long.
I mentioned residential because Dumaguete will never be an industrial or business haven in the next decade or so. And why so? Well, Dumaguetezens, Dumagueteneos or however else they call us, are loyal when it comes to food and the products relating to food. Milkmaid and Nanny still sells in this part of the country. Franchise of Thirsty and shawarma went best sellers for about a month or a couple more so before becoming a BIG flop. So, for business men wanting to penetrate with wet palates the city should think of bringing only brands that’s tested. I’m talking about McDonalds and Jollibee as these are sure to capture the hearts of many Dumaguetezens who’ve been craving for the tube ads. Yeah, try advertising like a madman before going into the battle at least. I still get my burger at Taster’s Delights which is at 15 Noblefrancia Street, Dumaguete City. I still am a Dumagueteneo by taste.

Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant (Formerly Rosante)
Location: Downtown Area, Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros
Let’s set expectations first. The service that the crew provides here is not very pleasant. Not what you’d expect from a restaurant. This is still the same crew that was Rosante. That written down let’s go on to the good side of Don Roberto’s Bar and Restaurant which is the food. (Continued…)
Current location
September 16, 2008 1 comment TravelsI’m currently in Dumaguete city to spend 2 days off from work to be at my Lola’s town fiesta(which I eventually missed, btw) to meet the rest of my relatives and spend quality time with my girlfriend.
The trip was fine. Ceres liners were not very fast moving when travelling during these days as compared to in weekends. The only plus side is that both the bus and the boat isn’t filled with maniacs – taken here as the pushing a$$holes who would like to be the first in boarding.
I slept the whole 3 hours of the bus ride sleeping since it’s been 2 days straight that I’ve been gulping away bottles of beer with my team mates as our shift ends 1AM. The Outpost on day one and Sencias on day two for some videoke action.
Dumaguete hasn’t changed a lot. But the roads are still always under construction so commuting around the city is not a straight line from point a to point b. Since I arrived late I opted to miss the town fiesta and eat out with gf at Don Robertos which I have to write food review on a different post later.
Called it a night and took the much needed sleep ar around past midnight.
