Why are Filipinos so…
July 18, 2010 Write a Comment Pilipinas, SEO, Web
Google.com always has answers to our questions. What was your last query in Google?
I saw similar image from somewhere just a second ago and thought it was funny at first but when it sinked in the Filipino in me asked: Will Google ever show such suggestions?
So, I keyed the letters in and let Google fetch suggestions from its vast databases using so advanced algorithms and in less than a second returned what is the image above.
Here‘s Google explaining how they come up with such suggestions. And why do people need to search how ugly, stupid and etcetera the Filipinos are? Makes me wanna %*)#%(*(_ but, hey, happy thoughts, mein. Just laugh it out. Be stupid.

Google Search with SSL now running on beta
May 25, 2010 Write a Comment Web
Welcome Google SSL! Hurrah for Google in pushing for a more secure search for everyone. By pointing browser address to https://www.google.com/ will allow any user to use the encrypted mode of Google Search.
All queries made on this mode will be encrypted so third party softwares wont be able to sniff out information between the user’s computer and Google’s server. Though the search parameter still uses GET, meaning URL line will still show the keyword used on the query, this will not be the case with how the third party software sees it. This will put extra ease when using a public connection.

PhP1000 worth of free advertising on Google AdWords?
June 20, 2009 3 comments AdvertisingI received an email from Google Analytics Philippines today about trying out Google AdWords. A PhP1000 worth of coupon, that I could use before July 17, 2009, was generously offered. I wasn’t really alienated by this as other advertising networks also have such but the thing that got me to really dig into the email was the currency – Philippine peso!
I was amused that all the links and email addresses looked legit. No scary hashes! Included in the email is a short FAQ on why advertisers should use Google Adwords and instructions on how to redeem the AdWords coupon.
I’m not decided yet to do anything about it but if you happen to see on your Google Adsense a link to this blog then this offer is TRUE and used it.
I don’t know if this is offered to everybody using these services from Google but if you’ve tried this, please let me know and how far will a PhP1000 worth coupon take me?
Google Adsense is for real!
October 27, 2008 10 comments AdvertisingThe entry’s title is addressed to the reluctant boys and girls who still think that making money in the internet is nothing but a “Congratulations, you’ve won a million dollars and click here to claim” cow pie way back.
This blog alone gave me two payouts from Google Adsense this year. I spent everything on the June payout that I cashed out through Western Union. The next one, which I decided for December, will be used to buy an iPod Nano so I could rock the Christmas away! The green one should be perfect but I’d go for the classy black, dude.
Generating $100 USD entitles anyone serving Adsense for a payout. For a small blog such as mine that’s a hard target to hit but hell I’m just happy getting another payout, man!
There are four ways to earn from the Adsense program:
- AdSense for Search
- AdSense for Content
- Referrals (Ended but gave part of my revenue)
- AdSense for Feeds (That I haven’t tried yet)
Edit: Thanks to Orville! I could have gotten the Google whipping for showing those stats.
My Adsense Payout thru WUMT
June 1, 2008 5 comments Advertising
I will be using Western Union Money Transfer (Quick Cash) for this month’s Google Adsense payout. This will be the first transaction that I will be doing with WU. I don’t know anything about the process but to just visit the nearest branch with at least two IDs. Screen shots of the Adsense Payment History tab were taken for referencing purposes.

Feedburner versus PageRank
May 1, 2008 3 comments Short On Ideas, WebI had my monthly bandwidth eaten up 4 days before April ended. So, www.in-indie.org, was unavailable for that span of days. Today, the bandwidth is reset and I’ve upgraded the hosting plan and this is actually the first time that I used my work card to pay so, yeah, I’m happy though Unionbank is very sucky in there support as I have been requesting for my transaction password to be reset for more than two weeks and not even an auto response.
What surprised me today, though, is not that I received a message from Unionbank – because i haven’t – but that my blog now have a PageRank of 2 (two) and the feed count from Feedburner is zero (0). Is this a “versus” thing from this two Google things? Yes, I have been hoping to have PageRank but please don’t count out my little feed counts.
The new look of searching?

The way Google display their search results have always been how they were back then. All the weight (bulk of text) are positioned to the left and everything else is elsewhere. I’m not complaining just as long as I get the best results for my searches but it wouldn’t really hurt if there is a step up to that.
Then came the step up! Google Labs are cooking up some new ways to showcase their search result. I love the mouse-less concept! I can navigate through the results using only my keyboard. Mouse sucks! Haha
