To the K, to the F, to the C

December 8, 2008 5 comments Grrrievance

It’s never my thing to complain and write about it but this got me rethinking.

Went to KFC at Coco Mall in Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu city last night to enjoy some crispy and tasty chicken from the most anti-ed fastfood chain! To my dissatisfaction, the chicken was never crispy and not at all tasty. Not even salty. My two year old godchild could cook better chicken, Mr. KFC!

So, I texted customer service after the quick unsatisfying meal. Got an automated response, at least I know the number is working, that my grrrievance is being taken care of. About an hour after received a real correspondence asking the TXN number of the receipt. Well, I left everything after the awful KFC dinner including my heart to ever come back to that branch or even trying any KFC in the near future. Thanks, whoever you may be, for for taking action but you were asking too many questions!

Cheer up, Philippines! Go to McDonalds or Jollibee if you are into expensive chicken or go to Tagala’s manokan for a real tasty and satifying fried chicken or just stop eating chicken! Go vegetarian and care more about animals!

The mystery of Big and Small parts

November 2, 2008 2 comments Short On Ideas

This is when Big and Small matters. This is when the phrase “It’s not the size of the boat but the motion of the ocean” doesn’t hit home.

Since my eating partner went miles away, oceans apart, I’ve been eating quick. Fastfood is my comfort. And why with the mysterious one-piece-chicken question, “Big part ni, sir?” (Basically asking if I want the big part of their chicken). Who would go for the small part, man?

This is on three major fastfood chains: McDonalds, Jollibee and KFC. I always get the big parts in other chicken houses – Chinese Ngohiong, Tagala’s Chicken Butterfly. I don’t get the logic of this offer. It could be the number of minutes these parts spend floating around in cooking oil. Yeah, it should be the fast that this chains have on their food. Or something else…I don’t know.

End note: Many thanks to Hazel of Samsung for the Starbucks GCs.
