Government issues pay rules for long holiday

The government today reiterated the pay rules for the regular holidays on December 25 (Christmas Day), December 30, 2008 (Rizal Day) and January 1, 2009 (New Year’s Day), as well as the special non-working days on December 26, December 29, and December 31, 2008 (Last Day of the Year).
Labor and Employment Secretary Marianito D. Roque said that based on Proclamation No. 1463 issued by President Arroyo on February 18 this year, she declared December 26 (Friday) and 29, 2008 (Monday) additional special (non-working) days throughout the country, “in order to enable our countrymen to have a more meaningful observance of Christmas and New Year, to strengthen their ties with one another.” (Continued…)

The whole idea is that we are free from the grip of these nations: Spain, Japan, United States of America. Though in most aspect of being independent from these nations is not really true. A shame to those guys who fought the war – may it be staged or not – who are now in the high heavens – well, maybe. I still take pride in being called a Filipino. Though we are looked down as a race I would still choose to be a Filipino – in whatever form because I love the idea of reincarnation.
Today, while on my way home, Filipinos are gathered infront of the city’s capitol building with solid steel baricades to separate them from the untouchables that we now call the politicians – and including the other legislatures. That is Filipino knocking on some other Filipino’s door that’s been closed momentarily because of the significant date. Beats me! Though I hate the activists who walk the streets because they fuck up the traffic I still support their heart. Maybe we are independent but up to which level?

Thursday Philippine Tour

After Shadows Fall’s invasion of the Philippines, one of my other respected band enters our shores. Thursday will be setting fire in the country for two days. Another rock ‘n’ rollin’ event brought to us by our beloved guys at Pulp. Bring them bands to Cebu city next time you fuckers! Supporting bands are Typecast, Chicosci, Angulo and April Morning Skies. Tears will flow.

The this country is the archepelago called Phillipines (Pilipinas). We are currently governed by our 14th President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who for the sake of recognition still uses her father’s surname. Her father was a former president too. That should add to the authority factor, riight? Well, yeah, she nicked her presidency by ousting a bloated showbees action-star. She is the why but everyone’s into her and I’m not quite interested so I coined a number of actual facts that I could list why this country sucks in 08. (Continued…)

Yes, we take pride in those sumptuous animal meat cooking that our fellow earthlymen find unique but what is really filling up the hungry Filipino stomach? Perhaps, we need an update on the database of what Filipino food really are today. What the less fortunate ones look after too at the end of every kick in the teeth day.
